Inspiration Gyp

When I first became a florist, I absolutely hated Gypsophila (babies breath) I thought it looked cheap, old fashioned and it smelt really bad! At the time I was much more interested in super modern, chic designs like that of the Dutch Master Florists. However just 8 short years later rustic, vintage flowers are right on trend and gyp is everywhere!! And now I find myself suggesting it to brides as a low cost yet pretty and elegant alternative.

Beautiful flower crown
I love this for a rustic country wedding!

baby's breath normally a bouquet filler flower so would be very cheap option! Since you have many bridesmaids this would be cost effective for you and how lovely it would go with your neutral tones.
It also looks great on its own in a bouquet for a bride or bridesmaid.

flowers in jar for aisle
Up-cycled jam jars hanging from trees or to decorate the ends of pews!
Rustic babies breath buttonhole
Love the button holes wrapped with twine <3
Gyp birdcage
Table Centres!! So cute

The possibilities are endless! So Gyp, I am willing to give you a second chance!

The Flower Shed

I'm Kirsty a freelance florist based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. I began my career in 2006 and completed my NVQ Level 2 in 2008. The moment I walked into the shop on my very first day I knew that I was meant to be a florist and I absolutely love what I do!

Working from my Flower Shed I create beautiful bespoke designs for weddings, events and funerals. I offer a personal service, passion and a real love for flowers. This is the start of something really special and I am prepared to put everything I have into making The Flower Shed a success. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and following me as I embark on this new adventure.
